Part 2 for today.
Met up at the Potter train with Robin, Birdie, Torque (our token male), Leslie and Ginger (our chase vehicle). We left about 11:40 or so and headed for Girdwood so people could top off. We had a great ride. There wasn't much traffic, only a few sprinkles and just an enjoyable ride. We rode mostly speed and five or so, except when it was necessary to pass ... which it was now and again.
Got to the rally site, and there were lots of people, motorhomes and folks camping. Everything went smooth at registration. and we hung around for a while visiting with people we had just seen last night, and with others we hadn't seen for either a few days, a few weeks, a few months, or since last year ... or maybe at the bike show in April.
The weather turned really nice, sunny, broken clouds. So it was time to start shedding clothes. Leslie, Ginger and I headed to the hotel to get checked in ... and unloaded. Headed back to the rally grounds where there was a fish frye going on. Halibut and fries. WOW! Tasted great. Si from KPHD said that they had 3,000 pieces ... I know they were very generous and did not run out. That always makes for a successful rally ... not running out of food. And they did not.
The rally site where some are camping has llamas ... Whoops. Anyhow, I saw them from a distance. There were also a couple of eagles flying overhead. Too cool.
So far, so good. Haven't taken any photos. Maybe tomorrow. The Kenai 500 may have some fodder for photos. We'll see.
Over and out for tonight.
